I love celebrating Christmas. Spending time with family and seeing the smiles spread across their faces as they open their gifts just warms my heart. Normally, my husband and I get one expensive gift, one gift that is a need, and one homemade gift for each other. Now that I have my own business, I’ve created a business Christmas wish list, and I hope I’m able to get just one thing from it.
On my list are a few online tools that I feel would be beneficial in growing my business, a few physical tools, and even a few items that aren’t directly for my business but would help me be more productive/active with it. So let’s take a look at my business Christmas wish list, shall we?
Cubii Under Desk Elliptical
Okay, so this technically isn’t business related, but I’m still adding it to my business Christmas wish list! Now that I spend SO much time at my own desk, I notice I don’t get up and move around nearly as much as I used to when I worked in an office. That’s where this little handy device would help.
The Cubii is supposed to be the first under the desk elliptical that is quiet, discreet, and able to sync with an app on your phone. I’ve read fairly decent reviews, and many of them stated that the Cubii really did help get them closer to 10,000 steps a day, even while sitting at a desk.
Even with a $60 off coupon, it would still cost $287($347 before discount). I’m not too excited about the price, but I wouldn’t mind it as a gift!
2017 FinCon Conference Ticket
I’m going to go out on a limb and say that I will most likely buy this for myself. Almost all of my clients have told me that I HAVE to go to FinCon next year, and I decided that I will! After talking about it, my husband and I decided to turn this into a bit of a family vacation. So we will stay for a few days after FinCon to enjoy the great city of Dallas.
If my husband doesn’t surprise me with my conference ticket, I will get one after Christmas. If you plan on going to FinCon, get your ticket early! You can save SO much money. (Update October 2017: I got my ticket to FinCon!)
Your Best Year 2017 Workbook
-After following the journey of Lisa Jacobs of Market Your Creativity, I want to order her “Your Best Year 2017” workbook this year! I’ve heard nothing but good things about this, and I think it would be super beneficial for me since I love planning ahead. If you are even remotely hesitant on picking up this workbook, check out this review from Boho Berry’s Kara Benz, a bullet journaler that I absolutely adore!
Bullet Journal Supplies
I have become more serious about bullet journaling over the last months. I hope to gain a few fountain pens, a few rolls of washi tape, and even a ruler to make my lines cleaner.
After utilizing Tailwind* for my clients, I have wanted to invest into it myself. Although it is inexpensive ($15/month or $120/year), I still haven’t found a way to talk myself into purchasing it.
Tailwind is one of the most useful tools I have come across for Pinterest. While not as behind the scenes as Board Booster, I’ve seen nothing but results from Tailwind, plus it is backed by Pinterest. (Update October 2017: I have now had Tailwind for over 6 months now, and I absolutely adore it!)
New Business Cards
I have some really awful business cards that I created using VistaPrint and I would love to have them redone. Now don’t take this the wrong way, I love VistaPrint. It’s easy to use and business cards are fully customizable. I just created horrible ones the first time around due to being pressed for time and wanting to have some handy.
(Update October 2017: I now use Moo for my business cards*, and holy smokes am I able to create some beautiful ones! For reference, I created square glossy business cards. They are so unique and amazing!)
Right now, I have a really old laptop (circa 2008). While it still works, I know that I need a little more power and ease of use in the next laptop that I get.
That is why I added the MacBook to my business Christmas wish list. I know it is a total splurge, so if I don’t get it for Christmas I plan on buying it myself for my birthday.
(Update October 2017: I didn’t get my MacBook for Christmas, but I was able to buy it for my birthday. I can’t wait to use this for years to come!)
A Huge Whiteboard
While I use my bullet journal and Trello* + Asana for day to day tasks and deadlines, I would love a whiteboard for daily encouragement, thoughts that pop into my head, and bigger projects that I need to physically see in front of me.
After making a huge list of every business book that I need to read in my bullet journal, I went on a hunt to find the cheapest way to purchase all of them.
I found a website called Thriftbooks, and after all of the books were added to my cart, my total only came up to $85.00. Talk about a steal! I think my husband would be happy with the savings, especially since I am ALWAYS asking for or buying books. A few of the books that are at the top of my list are #GirlBoss, Mogul, Mom, & Maid, and The You Factor.
Cute Coffee Mug & Coffee
Anyone who knows me is aware of my coffee addiction. I love taking the time to french press it and pour it in a pretty mug. The cup I really have my eye on this year is this one. Also, my favorite coffee is back (Starbucks Christmas Blend)!
Well, there you have it! I know my business Christmas wish list is extremely long and a bit expensive. Of course, I don’t expect to receive every single item on this list. If I receive just ONE of these, I will be extremely happy and grateful. What is on your business Christmas wish list this year?
