It feels so good to be back after a 2-month hiatus! I wanted to check in for the beginning of the month and start off with listing my goals. I used to list my goals way back when I first started my blog, and I felt it would be nice to jump back in. So let’s get right into it!
Hit 1,000 Page Views- Since I never really took the time to build up my blog, my page views have always been fairly low. While my blog was mostly a way to show off my writing skills and portfolio, I really want to take the time to grow it. I love blogging, and I think it’s time I show that by using it as a platform vs. a portfolio.
Write One Post A Week- Going with the trend of blogging as a platform, I want to post at least once a week. I have so many content ideas, so I don’t think this will be a hard goal to reach.
Grow My Email List By 50 People- I have plans to offer a free email course in the next month or two, plus I have a resource library that I’d love to get more eyes on. I know an email list is important, and I haven’t focused on it much, but I want to start. In fact, *shameless promo* you can sign-up for my email list below if you want access to all of the updated virtual assistant resources I have!
Grow Social Media Channels By At Least 20 People Each- I have to admit, for someone who doesn’t promote her social media channels that much, I have a bit of a following. Sure, 150+ people on my channels may not seem like a lot, but I do absolutely nothing with social media. So, if I can grow by just 20 people, I think that would be great!
Post On Instagram Daily- Instagram is in right now. The platform is easy to use and great for networking. So I want to be able to post on it daily. I have a nifty little tool* that will keep me in check, but I still need to remember to actually take photos and engage.
Increase Engagement On Facebook- With over 2 billion users, Facebook is HUGE. I hope to increase engagement on my page and get my followers involved with all the changes on my blog and social media.
Participate In One Twitter Chat- I will be honest, I don’t really like having a Twitter. But I know it’s a great tool to engage in real time. I’ve participated in a few Twitter chats, and I had fun. I hope to be able to participate in at least one this month.
Attend FinCon 2017- I bought my FinCon ticket back in May, and I’m so excited to attend. This will be my first time attending a conference as an entrepreneur, and I couldn’t be more thrilled. Plus, my family is traveling with me so we can spend some time before and after the conference to have a bit of a family vacation.
Make $50 From My Blog- All of the income I currently make comes from clients that I work with as a virtual assistant and freelance writer. But I’d love to start making money from my blog. I set a really low money goal, but that’s just because I don’t know how well this month will go. I guess we will see!
Gain One New Writing Client- I love writing. I have a few websites and blogs that I write for already, but I’d love to add one more to the list. Whenever I write a post, it never feels like work, so it’s great that I get to do it and get paid for it!
Make $7,000- I made $6,400 in the month of September, and I’d love to increase that to $7,000 in October. Of course, I have expenses and taxes to pay with that money, but I still hope I can reach it!
Celebrate My Husband’s And Daughter’s Birthday’s- Both my husband and daughter have birthday’s in October. This year, we are celebrating at Dave and Buster’s for my husband, and Chuck E. Cheese for my daughter. If both go as well as planned, I’ll consider this a win.
Celebrate Halloween- We love Halloween in this household. Last year my daughter went trick or treating for the first time, and she had so much fun! I would love to get her out again this year, but with the way the weather is going, I’m not so sure.
Go To The Pumpkin Patch- Every year we go to a pumpkin patch in Lawrence, KS. It’s been a family tradition since I was pregnant with my daughter. Even my sister joins in on the festivities. If we can go on my daughter’s birthday, that would be awesome, but we may go a little later than that since we are celebrating her birthday on a weekend. Having two major events in a week seems like overkill with an almost 3-year-old.
Well, those are all of the goals I have for the month of October. I know it seems like quite the list, but I think it may be manageable. I guess we will see how well I did at the end of the month! What are your goals for October?
