We are now two quarters down in 2018, 2 more to go! I have a ton to share with you for my June in review, so let’s get started!
I ventured out and started consulting as part of my business model, and so far it’s been fantastic! I’ve already consulted with two amazing women who were looking to “level up” in their business and start making more money. Now, I’m NOT a coach, and I don’t think I’ll ever consider myself one. You can read more about the differences between a coach and a consultant here, but the gist is that I’m helping women solve a specific problem by sharing my expertise vs. having them look inward and work on self-discovery.
I’ve been working on my business from the inside out, trying to create better processes and systems, organizing my workflows, and really cutting out the “extras” that aren’t really needed. It’s been awesome to really hone in and make things easier on me and my virtual assistant.
Dealing With Clients
I’ve been cleaning house, letting go of clients and work that I no longer need, and working towards working with the people I truly want to work with. I let go of three clients last month and gained one new client that matches my other clientele. She’s exactly who I look for when I want to work with a new client, and I’m really excited to continue working with her moving forward.
Reading All The Books
I read 4 books in June! Which for me is crazy, because I can typically only read one or two. Granted, two of the books I read were read using Audible, but I’m still so incredibly proud that I was able to get through so many books. In June, I read The 5 Second Rule, Unfu*k Yourself, Purple Cow, and The Miracle Morning. Hopefully, I can keep the reading streak going!
Personal Life Recap
Taking Some Time Off
In the month of June, I actually took some full weekends off! While I work Monday-Thursday on client work, I find myself working through the weekend on my own work. In June, I was feeling a bit over it. So, I took the time to regroup and spend more time on personal development and hanging out with my family. Running a business is hard. And sometimes, it gets to the point where you’re juggling so many opportunities that you just need to take a step back and breathe.
While it was hard pulling myself away from my business, especially because I love what I do, I love my family and myself as well. By taking some time away from building my empire, I received a lot of clarity and was able to unwind and just relax.
I lost 15 pounds in the month of June! My clothes are loose, I bought shorts for the first time in 6 years, and I feel like I’m having more and more energy. Just in the last month, I’ve gained a huge respect for Weight Watchers, and I’m so glad I found a program that works around my lifestyle, not something that tells me to cut out my favorite things and deprive myself. Plus, it’s really helping me focus on my eating habits, like binge eating when I’m stressed or bored.
I’ve been struggling with that for years, especially as someone who’s been through a lot. Food was my comfort, my safe zone. I never felt bad while eating, but I would feel bad afterward. Weight Watchers has shown me that I don’t HAVE to turn to food for comfort, and in the 6 weeks that I’ve been on it, I’ve only binged once. I’m sticking with this for the long haul!
Along with taking some time off, I also did a lot more with my family in the month of June. I took my daughter to the park at least once a week, we checked out a bigger library in our area, and we went out for dinner and ice cream with some friends and their son. It was all a lot of fun, and it was nice to go out and have some time with other people!
June was definitely a month of relaxation and cleaning up my business for me. It feels so good to have everything ready to go for quarter three!
